Scan all files in the manifest for invisible Unicode characters and encoding corruption.

Check: nbsp-present

Search for non-breaking spaces (U+00A0):

Grep for the byte sequence \xC2\xA0 across content files

Alternative: search for the literal NBSP character. Report each occurrence with file:line.

Check: zero-width-present

Search for zero-width characters:

  • U+200B (zero-width space)
  • U+200C (zero-width non-joiner)
  • U+200D (zero-width joiner)
  • U+FEFF (BOM / zero-width no-break space, when not at file start)

Check: bom-present

Check first 3 bytes of each file for UTF-8 BOM marker (\xEF\xBB\xBF):
