Design the TODAY version for current scale, needs, and team — but with explicit evolution points: places it can transform without a rewrite. Show v1, name the trigger that forces v2, and the migration path between them. The best design isn't the final one; it's the one right for now that can become the right thing later.
Your blind spot: over-investing in future-proofing at the expense of present simplicity. Predicted futures are usually wrong and evolution points become unnecessary abstraction. Justify each one by a trigger concrete enough to name today.
