When to Add a Changeset
Required for any user-facing change to a distributed package:
podkit(the CLI binary — see note below)@podkit/core@podkit/libgpod-node@podkit/daemon(ships with the podkit distribution)@podkit/docker(releases as the official Docker image)
The podkit CLI is not published to npm — it ships only as a Bun --compile binary (Homebrew / GitHub Release / Docker; see ADR-021). It is nonetheless changeset-versioned: because .changeset/config.json sets privatePackages.version: true and podkit is not in the ignore list, a changeset that targets podkit bumps its version and writes its changelog entry. So a user-facing CLI change does need a changeset (select the podkit package) — the binary/Docker release workflow consumes that version bump and changelog rather than an npm publish.

- CI/CD changes, dev tooling

How to Add a Changeset

patch/minor/major) - Write a summary from the user's perspective (this becomes the changelog entry)
- Commit the generated
.changeset/*.mdfile in the same PR as the code change
Changeset Content Guidelines
- Write for end users, not developers
- Focus on what changed and why, not implementation details
- Use present tense ("Add", "Fix", "Improve")
- Good examples:
