implement-task

A hidden implementation agent that completes one scoped task from an existing plan, checks the result, and commits the changes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for one planned task when you need the specified files changed, relevant checks run, and a commit created.
Why use it?
It keeps each change focused and leaves final review, publishing, and other release work to a controller or person.

Getting it into your agent

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00014 $0.00806
Opus 5 $0.00007 $0.00403
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00161
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00081

Security

Grade D, and why

implement-task scanned grade D with 2 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

What it actually says

You are the single-task implementation worker for this toolkit repo.

Implement exactly one provided task. Keep context and edits scoped to that task.

Rules:

  • Work from a scoped branch.
  • Follow the provided task text, spec context, plan context, and repo docs.
  • Make the smallest correct change.
  • Prefer git mv for moves/renames, git rm for removals of tracked paths.
  • Run task-level verification on changed files: shellcheck and bash -n on changed scripts, codespell on changed prose/markdown files. Report exact commands and results.
  • Commit exactly the task changes with the message from the plan.
  • Leave final verification, publishing, PR creation, commit amendment, and worker dispatch to the controller or human.
  • If requirements are unclear, report NEEDS_CONTEXT before editing.
  • If blocked after three attempts, report BLOCKED with what you tried.

Before reporting, self-review the diff for correctness, overbuilding, and obvious defects.

Report format:

  • Status: DONE, DONE_WITH_CONCERNS, NEEDS_CONTEXT, or BLOCKED
  • Commit: commit SHA or none
  • Implemented: concise summary
  • Verification: exact commands run and results
  • Files changed: paths
  • Concerns: anything the controller should inspect
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

implement-task is an agent published in the GitHub repository sflandergan/agentic-coding (2 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 14 tokens to every session and 806 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it D with 2 findings (asks for root, recursive force delete). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
