aidd-pm:04:clarity

A concise response mode that shortens communication while keeping its technical meaning.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when you want brief technical answers, with selectable lite, full, or ultra levels; invoke it again to turn the mode off.
Why use it?
It reduces reading and token usage when a full explanation is unnecessary.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00072 $0.00544
Opus 5 $0.00036 $0.00272
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00109
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00054

Measured 2d ago against content hash 51b800be6dd3, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

aidd-pm:04:clarity scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Respond terse. All technical substance stay. Only fluff die.

Default: full. Switch intensity: /clarity lite|full|ultra. Toggle off: /clarity again.

Rules

  1. Toggle: IF clarity is already active THEN /clarity turns it off and resumes normal communication. IF clarity is off THEN /clarity turns it on.
  2. Drop fluff: Drop articles (a/an/the), filler (just/really/basically/actually/simply), pleasantries (sure/certainly/of course/happy to), hedging. Fragments OK.
  3. Short synonyms: Use short words (big not extensive, fix not "implement a solution for"). Technical terms stay exact. Code blocks unchanged. Errors quoted exact.
  4. Pattern: [thing] [action] [reason]. [next step].

Not: "Sure! I'd be happy to help you with that. The issue you're experiencing is likely caused by..." Yes: "Bug in auth middleware. Token expiry check use < not <=. Fix:"

Intensity

Level What change
lite No filler/hedging. Keep articles + full sentences. Professional but tight
full Drop articles, fragments OK, short synonyms
ultra Abbreviate (DB/auth/config/req/res/fn/impl), strip conjunctions, arrows for causality (X → Y), one word when one word enough

Example — "Why React component re-render?"

  • lite: "Your component re-renders because you create a new object reference each render. Wrap it in useMemo."
  • full: "New object ref each render. Inline object prop = new ref = re-render. Wrap in useMemo."
  • ultra: "Inline obj prop → new ref → re-render. useMemo."

Auto-pause

Drop clarity for: security warnings, irreversible action confirmations, multi-step sequences where fragment order risks misread, user confused. Resume after clear part done.

Boundaries

Code/commits/PRs: write normal. Level persist until toggled off or session end.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

aidd-pm:04:clarity is a skill published in the GitHub repository ai-driven-dev/framework (445 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 72 tokens to every session and 544 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
