cloud-sql-postgres-view-config

A set of scripts for inspecting and managing a PostgreSQL database engine, including available extensions and server-level settings. PostgreSQL is a database system, and extensions add optional database features.

In plain words
What is it for?
Viewing database health and connections, checking or installing available PostgreSQL extensions, and fine-tuning settings such as memory allocation.
Why use it?
It provides a way to check the database's current state and adjust engine configuration without relying on undocumented manual steps.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00037 $0.00463
Opus 5 $0.00018 $0.00231
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00093
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00046

Security

Grade A, and why

cloud-sql-postgres-view-config scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 6 executable files (scripts/database_overview.js, scripts/get_instance.js, scripts/list_available_extensions.js, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Usage

All scripts can be executed using Node.js. Replace <param_name> and <param_value> with actual values.

Bash: node <skill_dir>/scripts/<script_name>.js '{"<param_name>": "<param_value>"}'

PowerShell: node <skill_dir>/scripts/<script_name>.js '{\"<param_name>\": \"<param_value>\"}'

Note: The scripts automatically load the environment variables from various .env files. Do not ask the user to set vars unless skill executions fails due to env var absence.

Scripts

database_overview

Fetches the current state of the PostgreSQL server, returning the version, whether it's a replica, uptime duration, maximum connection limit, number of current connections, number of active connections, and the percentage of connections in use.

get_instance

Parameters
Name Type Description Required Default
projectId string The GCP project ID. This is pre-configured; do not ask for it unless the user explicitly provides a different one. No
instanceId string The instance ID Yes

list_available_extensions

Discover all PostgreSQL extensions available for installation on this server, returning name, default_version, and description.

list_installed_extensions

List all installed PostgreSQL extensions with their name, version, schema, owner, and description.

list_memory_configurations

List PostgreSQL memory-related configurations (name and current setting) from pg_settings.

list_pg_settings

Parameters
Name Type Description Required Default
setting_name string Optional: A specific configuration parameter name pattern to search for. No ``
limit integer Optional: The maximum number of rows to return. No 50

Files

What ships with it

6 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
