content-broll

A guide for finding or creating supporting video and visual material for content, such as screen recordings, code demonstrations, charts, stock footage, and AI-created images.

In plain words
What is it for?
It supports recording tool use, animating short code examples, presenting data, creating illustrations, and sourcing relevant footage.
Why use it?
It helps turn abstract explanations or software demonstrations into visual material that viewers can follow.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00022 $0.00591
Opus 5 $0.00011 $0.00296
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00118
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00059

Measured 2d ago against content hash 85938b423ae6, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

content-broll scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 75 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Content B-Roll

Create and source supplementary visual assets that support the main content.

B-Roll Categories

1. Screen Recordings

Capture real tool usage, code editing, terminal commands.

  • Use cases: VS Code demo, terminal commands, browser workflow, dashboard walkthrough
  • Rules: Clean desktop, relevant tabs only, zoom into important areas, no personal data visible
  • Spec: 1920×1080 minimum, export as MP4

2. Code Visuals

Programmatic code animations — not screen recordings, but designed visuals.

  • Use cases: Syntax-highlighted code snippets, terminal sequences, before/after code
  • Rules: Max 15 lines visible, language-appropriate highlighting, readable at mobile size

3. Data Visualizations

Charts, metrics, before/after comparisons.

  • Use cases: Performance metrics, comparison charts, growth graphs, cost breakdowns
  • Rules: One data point per visual, clear labels, brand colors, animate the reveal

4. AI-Generated Images

Custom illustrations, concept art, backgrounds.

  • Fallback: Use content-image skill for static AI images when video not needed

5. Stock Footage

Real-world context clips for abstract concepts.

  • Sources: Pexels, Pixabay (license-free), Unsplash video
  • Rules: Verify license before use, prefer authentic over generic

B-Roll Manifest Format

Document every captured asset:

{
  "assets": [
    {
      "id": "broll-001",
      "type": "screen_recording",
      "description": "Terminal: running pnpm dev",
      "duration_sec": 12,
      "file": "broll-001-pnpm-dev.mp4",
      "use_at": "section: demo",
      "notes": "Zoom to 150% during command execution"
    }
  ]
}

Rules

  • Organize assets by topic/section, not chronology
  • Every asset gets an ID for easy reference in the edit
  • Screen recordings: no personal data, no irrelevant tabs
  • Stock footage: always verify license
  • Minimum 3 b-roll assets per video piece

Done Criteria

  • B-roll manifest created with all assets documented
  • Assets organized by section/topic
  • Licenses verified for any stock footage
  • File format and dimensions confirmed (MP4, correct aspect ratio)
  • No personal data visible in screen recordings

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

content-broll is a skill published in the GitHub repository maxtechera/ship (2 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 22 tokens to every session and 591 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
