wake-scriban

A guide to Scriban, a templating language used in Wake Storefront server-rendered HTML files. It covers expressions, control structures, whitespace rules, built-in helpers, and Wake-specific conventions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when writing, editing, debugging, or explaining Scriban code in Wake Storefront HTML templates.
Why use it?
It helps developers understand and change Scriban templates without confusing the template language with the wider Wake Storefront project structure.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00059 $0.03011
Opus 5 $0.00030 $0.01505
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00602
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00301

Security

Grade A, and why

wake-scriban scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Wake Scriban

Scriban dialect and conventions used inside Wake Storefront SSR .html templates. This skill is language-focused: syntax, expressions, built-ins, whitespace control, Wake-flavored idioms.

For project anatomy (folders, Configs/*.json contracts, Pages↔Queries wiring, Snippets/SnippetQueries pairing), use the sibling wake-template skill.

When you need depth this file doesn't cover, read the bundled docs in references/:

  • references/language.md — full Scriban language reference (syntax, statements, expressions). Read for: advanced control flow, wrap, with, import, parametric functions, escape blocks beyond {%{ }%}.
  • references/builtins.md — every built-in function (array.*, string.*, math.*, date.*, html.*, object.*, regex.*, timespan.*). Read when picking the right helper or checking signatures.
  • references/liquid-support.md — Scriban's Liquid compatibility layer. Read only if migrating from Liquid or seeing {% ... %} style tags.
  • references/runtime.md — .NET host API. Mostly irrelevant for template authors; read only when integrating Scriban into a custom .NET app.

External: Wake Scriban docs, Wake general docs, Scriban upstream.

Scriban Quick Reference (Wake-flavored)

Wake uses Scriban (not Liquid). The two share a lot of surface but Scriban is more expressive — prefer Scriban syntax in new code.

Code blocks

{{ expression }} output the expression
{{ x = 5 }} assignment, no output
{{ if cond }}...{{ end }} control flow
{{~ ... ~}} greedy whitespace trim (left/right)
{{- ... -}} same as ~ for both sides
{{## doc-comment ##}} multi-line comment (Wake header pattern, see below)
# inline comment to end of line, inside a code block

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

wake-scriban is a skill published in the GitHub repository wake-engineering/ai-plugin (2 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 59 tokens to every session and 3,011 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
