simplicio-prism

A routing layer for Simplicio that chooses and combines the right components for broad, unclear, or multi-part work. It coordinates Mapper, Fast, Dev CLI, Loop, and Runtime without performing code changes itself.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for end-to-end tasks, requests spanning several Simplicio components, or situations where the correct capability is unclear.
Why use it?
It helps an agent decide which workflow or component should handle a request and preserves evidence about the route and artifacts used.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00074 $0.00949
Opus 5 $0.00037 $0.00475
Sonnet 5 $0.00015 $0.00190
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00095

Measured 2d ago against content hash 5d541429bea2, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

simplicio-prism scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/generate_capability_inventory.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Simplicio Prism

Worker preflight and centralized artifact policy

Before routing or operating, each worker reads repository AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, and all relevant local skills. Prism only composes a route after that preflight. One binary/artifact set is built centrally from the canonical default branch and shared read-only; workers never rebuild binaries or regenerate canonical Mapper/Fast artifacts. Worktrees isolate source edits and receipts only. Route evidence and receipts carry repository/revision, binary digest/version, Mapper generation, and artifact digest. Missing, stale, incompatible, or mismatched central artifacts fail closed and select the central rebuild path only.

The async boundary is explicit: Loop/Prism uses Python asyncio for scheduling, leases, and I/O; Runtime/Tokio owns gates, effects, receipts, and reconciliation. Neither async layer authorizes a worker-local rebuild or canonical artifact regeneration.

Use Prism as the top-level capability router. Read references/capabilities.yaml for routing rules and references/recipes.md for end-to-end compositions. Load a component skill only after Prism has selected it; do not duplicate component documentation here.

Generate the complete interface map

Run the inventory generator against the actual checkout before relying on an interface:

python3 scripts/generate_capability_inventory.py /path/to/repository \
  --output /path/to/repository/capability-inventory.json
python3 scripts/generate_capability_inventory.py \
  --validate /path/to/repository/capability-inventory.json

The inventory covers CLI entry points and subcommands, MCP registrations, public Python and Rust APIs, configuration files, inferred inputs/outputs/effects, observed errors and fallbacks, dependency/version data, compatibility, and cost estimates. Static cost and semantic contracts remain requires_review until measured or supplied in capability-overrides.json. Use references/capability-record.schema.json and references/discovery.md to interpret confidence.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

simplicio-prism is a skill published in the GitHub repository wesleysimplicio/simplicio-loop (2 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 74 tokens to every session and 949 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
