What is SessionStart?

A startup hook that runs a session-start script when a coding-agent session begins or resumes. A hook is an automated action triggered by a particular event.

Use it to trigger the referenced session-start script during agent startup and resume events, including setup or time-tracking tasks defined by that script.

It ensures required session setup happens automatically at the beginning of each session instead of relying on someone to run it manually.
