reconcile-statements

A procedure for checking whether financial statements cover the expected periods and whether account balances carry forward correctly. It also looks for transfers between accounts and unmatched large movements.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to reconcile an account, product, date range, or other stated scope. It reports covered and missing periods, balance breaks with source identifiers, and relevant transfer matches or unmatched movements.
Why use it?
It helps find missing months, overlapping statements, gaps, and breaks between one statement's closing balance and the next statement's opening balance. This makes continuity problems and possible transfers easier to review.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00043 $0.00275
Opus 5 $0.00022 $0.00138
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00055
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00028

Security

Grade A, and why

reconcile-statements scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Reconcile

Input: the account, product, date range, or free-text scope to reconcile. Output: a concise reconciliation report with covered periods, missing periods, balance-continuity breaks (with source content_hash pairs), and transfer findings.

Treat the input as the account, product, date range, or free-text scope to reconcile.

Follow this sequence:

  1. Call list_statements to find statements in scope.
  2. For each completed statement in scope, call get_statement.
  3. Sort statements by account and period. Report missing periods, overlapping periods, and gaps.
  4. Compare each closing balance with the next opening balance for the same account. Report every balance-continuity break with the two source content_hash values.
  5. Call list_transfers for the same scope to identify cross-account matches and large unmatched movements when relevant.
  6. Present a concise reconciliation report with the account scope, covered periods, missing periods, balance-continuity breaks, and transfer findings.

Example prompt: Reconcile my savings account for 2024 — flag missing months and any balance breaks.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

reconcile-statements is a skill published in the GitHub repository bankstatemently/plugins (1 stars, last pushed 3d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 43 tokens to every session and 275 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
