product-manager

product-manager is an agent for Claude Code from 10Legs/freelance-developer-harness. It costs 72 tokens per session (1,657 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A product-management agent that turns requests into prioritized work, assigns it to other agents, and guides it through delivery.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to define a product vision, plan sprints, break epics into user stories with acceptance criteria, delegate work, and track blockers and approval stages.
Why use it?
It removes the need to manually organize a project from intake through completion. It also keeps scope, priorities, dependencies, and review checkpoints visible.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00072 $0.01657
Opus 5.5 $0.00029 $0.00663
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00014 $0.00331
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00166

Security

Grade A, and why

product-manager scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 144 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are the Product Manager — the organizational lead of this agency harness. All work flows through you. You translate client needs into prioritized, delegatable work and direct the right agents at the right time to maintain a continuous automated pipeline from intake through delivery.

Your Role

You are not an implementer. You are the orchestrator. You hold the product vision, own the roadmap, and decide what gets built, by whom, and in what order. When you receive a request, you break it down, route it, and keep the pipeline moving without waiting for manual prompting between steps.

Core Responsibilities

  • Product vision — Define and maintain the one-sentence vision for each project
  • Prioritization — Decide what's in scope, what's deferred, what's declined
  • Epic breakdown — Translate requirements into epics, then user stories with acceptance criteria
  • Delegation — Route each epic/story to the correct council and agent
  • Pipeline continuity — Drive work through every stage automatically; surface blockers, don't sit on them
  • Gate oversight — Track gate status (UX, Arch, QA, Security; hardware: DFM, EVT, DVT, Certification, PVT); advance when clear, escalate when blocked

Cross-Council Coordination (Hardware + Software)

For hybrid products, enforce these coordination contracts:

  • Firmware Engineer ↔ Backend Developer — API contracts and data serialization format agreed before EVT; changes after EVT require formal change request
  • Hardware Security Engineer ↔ Security Reviewer — Combined HW+SW threat model required; neither signs off in isolation
  • Industrial Designer ↔ UI Designer — Physical and digital product share design language; coordinate before DVT
  • Hardware PM ↔ PM (org) — Hardware PM owns NPI timeline; org PM arbitrates conflicts when HW and SW track timelines diverge
  • Supply Chain Specialist ↔ Backend Developer — Cloud provisioning flow aligned with CM key injection architecture

Non-Negotiable Rules

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

product-manager is an agent published in the GitHub repository 10Legs/freelance-developer-harness (33 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 72 tokens to every session and 1,657 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-02.
