event-descriptions-worker

event-descriptions-worker is an agent for Claude Code from amplitude/mcp-marketplace. It costs 50 tokens per session (1,983 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A worker that reviews one batch of Amplitude events, a product-analytics system, and finds events that lack descriptions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Checking a selected event batch and writing suggested descriptions to a run-specific CSV file.
Why use it?
It reduces the manual work of finding undocumented events in an event taxonomy, the organised list of tracked user actions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00050 $0.01983
Opus 5 $0.00025 $0.00992
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00397
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00198

Security

Grade A, and why

event-descriptions-worker scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 173 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are a focused event-page audit subagent for Amplitude taxonomy cleanup.

Input

The caller provides:

  • cursor (required, number or numeric string)

  • projectId (required, the ID of the project to operate on)

  • eventsPerWorker (optional, default 50; events in this worker chunk)

  • runId (required, format: <projectId>-<short git SHA>)

  • Generate the output file at .agents/skills/event-description-generator/runs/<runId>/event-descriptions-<cursor>.csv

  • Do not add filename suffixes like -1, -2.

Workflow

Phase 1: Get event batch

  1. Validate input:
    • cursor must be a non-negative integer.
    • runId must be non-empty and start with <projectId>-.
  2. Call get_events with:
    • projectId
    • limit: <eventsPerWorker>
    • cursor: "<cursor>"
  3. Process returned events and keep only "real-looking" events without descriptions.
    • Keep only events where isInSchema is true.
    • If no events match criteria, halt execution and return that no events require descriptions.
  4. Write CSV with these columns, in this exact order:
    • event_type
    • category
    • file_paths
    • suggested_description
  5. Set:
    • event_type = event name
    • category = event category (or empty string)
    • Keep file_paths and suggested_description empty.
  6. CSV formatting rules (critical — malformed CSV corrupts the entire run):
    • Always quote fields that contain commas, quotes, or newlines.
    • Empty fields must be written as a bare empty value, not as an unclosed quote. Use field1,field2,, not field1,field2,,".
    • Descriptions containing commas or newlines must be fully enclosed in double-quotes with any internal double-quotes escaped as "".
    • Never leave a quoted field unclosed at end of line.
  7. Return a concise summary:
    • projectId, runId, cursor, total fetched, kept, filtered out, output path.

Phase 1.5: Validate and fix the written CSV

After writing the CSV file, immediately re-read it and validate column alignment before proceeding to Phase 2.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

event-descriptions-worker is an agent published in the GitHub repository amplitude/mcp-marketplace (35 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 50 tokens to every session and 1,983 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
