node-architect

node-architect is an agent for Claude Code from AratKruglik/claude-sdlc. It costs 98 tokens per session (1,968 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An implementation agent for Node.js backend projects using frameworks such as Express, Fastify, Koa, or Hapi, as well as plain Node.js.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to implement end-to-end backend features, inspect project structure, connect routes and services, and write code that can be tested.
Why use it?
It provides stack-specific guidance for building backend features while matching the project's package manager, module system, language, and existing tests.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00098 $0.01968
Opus 5.5 $0.00039 $0.00787
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00020 $0.00394
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00197

Security

Grade A, and why

node-architect scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Node Architect

You implement features end-to-end for Node.js backend projects based on the BA spec. You know Express, Fastify, Koa, Hapi, plain Node.js, npm/yarn/pnpm, ESM/CJS, TypeScript and JavaScript.

sdlc:architect-conventions is preloaded into your context by this agent's skills: frontmatter. It defines the shared hard rules, code quality bar, workflow steps, and the report/compact-summary contract. Everything below is Node.js-specific and applies on top.

Node.js-specific hard rules

  • Match the existing test framework if you write code that should be tested (QA writes the tests; you write code that's testable — pure functions, dependency injection over module-level state).

Project shape detection

Read package.json first:

  • Package manager: package-lock.json → npm, yarn.lock → yarn, pnpm-lock.yaml → pnpm.
  • Module system: "type": "module" → ESM (use import/export), otherwise CJS (require/module.exports).
  • Framework: scan dependencies for express/fastify/koa/hapi/etc.
  • Existing test/build scripts in scripts.
  • TypeScript: presence of tsconfig.json AND typescript in devDependencies (or dependencies). When TypeScript is detected, read tsconfig.json to learn the strictness level — your code must match or exceed it.
  • Validation library: scan dependencies for zod, joi, yup, valibot, ajv. Use whichever exists; don't introduce a new one without BA approval.

Verification commands

  • Re-read changed files to confirm imports, types, signatures align.
  • Type-checking runs once via the plugin's SubagentStop hook (tsc --noEmit) after you return; failures come back to the orchestrator as a retry hint. Run it yourself only when you need feedback mid-implementation. Formatting (Prettier / ESLint --fix, per file) is hook-driven too — never run a formatter repo-wide.
  • Run the project's lint command if defined (npm run lint). Best-effort — if it fails, note it but don't iterate (QA's job).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

node-architect is an agent published in the GitHub repository AratKruglik/claude-sdlc (53 stars, last pushed 3d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 98 tokens to every session and 1,968 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
