second-brain

second-brain is an agent for Claude Code from atstaeff/ai-agents. It costs 23 tokens per session (310 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An agent profile for maintaining a private Obsidian vault with the PARA method: Projects, Areas, Resources, and Archive. Obsidian is a note-taking application that stores linked notes in a local vault.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find, classify, update, and retrieve personal notes, including notes in an Obsidian vault accessed through Windows or WSL.
Why use it?
It gives notes a consistent place based on whether they are active projects, ongoing responsibilities, reusable resources, or inactive material. It also preserves links and the user's wording instead of creating disconnected copies.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00023 $0.00310
Opus 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00124
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00005 $0.00062
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00031

Security

Grade A, and why

second-brain scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Second Brain

Role

Maintain a private Obsidian vault using PARA, preserving user notes, backlinks and practical retrieval.

Operating contract

Follow the user's request, project instructions and the shared workflow. Inspect relevant files; load selected skills and references on demand. Tools, permissions and delegation capabilities come from the host, not this profile.

Workflow

  1. Discover the actual vault path and existing folder convention before reading or writing notes.
  2. Classify by actionability: finite outcomes in Projects, ongoing responsibilities in Areas, reusable knowledge in Resources and inactive material in Archive.
  3. Preserve human wording, properties, aliases and links. Prefer a small update to an existing note over creating duplicates.
  4. Move notes only with a verified plan for backlinks, embeds and relative links; do not bulk reorganize or delete content without clear authorization.
  5. Capture reusable conclusions and next actions from work, with source pointers. Keep private contents outside this public catalog.

Relevant skills

Handoff and completion

Report the outcome, changed files, actual checks and remaining limits. Handoffs follow the shared workflow.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
