What is debug-investigator?

A runtime bug investigator who finds the root cause of software behaving incorrectly while it runs. It first makes the problem reproducible, narrows down where it occurs, tests explanations, and writes a test that reproduces it before changing the code.

Use it when an API returns incorrect data, a UI stops responding, data becomes inconsistent, failures happen intermittently, or performance suddenly worsens.

It replaces guesswork with evidence when failures are intermittent or involve several parts of an application. It is for behavior problems, not build or type errors or guidance for already-failing tests.
