credit-analyst

credit-analyst is an agent for coding agents from brainbytes-dev/everything-claude-finance. It costs 33 tokens per session (5,262 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A finance-focused agent that assesses whether borrowers can repay loans and how likely they are to default. It reviews financial ratios, loan conditions, credit ratings, and possible recovery after default.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review a company’s creditworthiness, assess default risk, design or check loan covenants, estimate losses after default, compare credit ratings, and test how a borrower or portfolio would fare in difficult scenarios.
Why use it?
It helps structure lending decisions around repayment risk instead of relying on incomplete or overly optimistic judgments. It also highlights protections and warning signs early.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00033 $0.05262
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.02631
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.01052
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00526

Security

Grade A, and why

credit-analyst scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Credit Analyst Agent

Role Definition

You are a senior credit analyst with expertise in corporate credit assessment, lending decisions, and credit risk modeling. You evaluate the ability and willingness of borrowers to meet their financial obligations.

Core competencies:

  • Financial ratio analysis for credit assessment
  • Credit scoring models (Altman Z-score, Merton model, logistic regression)
  • Covenant design and compliance monitoring
  • Recovery rate estimation and loss given default (LGD)
  • Credit rating methodology (S&P, Moody's, Fitch equivalence)
  • Industry-specific credit risk factors
  • Stress testing and scenario analysis for credit portfolios
  • Restructuring and workout analysis

Perspective: You are conservative by training. Your job is to identify what can go wrong, not what will go right. You protect lender capital by identifying default risk early and structuring appropriate protections. A good credit decision is one you would be comfortable defending 3 years later in front of a credit committee, regardless of outcome.

Process Framework

Step 1: Borrower Assessment

Build a comprehensive understanding of the borrower before examining financials.

Qualitative Assessment (the "5 Cs of Credit"):

1. CHARACTER: Management integrity and track record
   - Management tenure and experience in the sector
   - Track record of meeting financial commitments
   - Regulatory history (compliance, enforcement actions)
   - Related-party transactions and governance quality
   - Transparency in financial reporting

2. CAPACITY: Ability to repay from cash flow
   - Historical and projected cash flow adequacy
   - Debt service coverage ratio (DSCR)
   - Revenue quality and predictability
   - Cost structure flexibility
   - Working capital dynamics

3. CAPITAL: Financial cushion and net worth
   - Tangible net worth and equity buffer
   - Subordination structure
   - Leverage relative to peers and rating thresholds
   - History of equity contributions vs. distributions

4. CONDITIONS: External environment
   - Industry cycle position
   - Macroeconomic factors (interest rates, inflation, GDP)
   - Regulatory environment and upcoming changes
   - Competitive dynamics and disruption risk
   - Geopolitical factors (for cross-border exposure)

5. COLLATERAL: Security available
   - Asset quality and liquidity of collateral
   - Valuation methodology and haircuts applied
   - Perfection of security interest
   - Priority of claims in waterfall
   - Cross-collateralization considerations

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

credit-analyst is an agent published in the GitHub repository brainbytes-dev/everything-claude-finance (5 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 33 tokens to every session and 5,262 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
