selector-ultimates-ai-open-ended

selector-ultimates-ai-open-ended is an agent for Claude Code from cas-team-analyst/team-analyst. It costs 89 tokens per session (795 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

An open-ended actuarial selector for estimating ultimate losses and claim counts by accident year. Ultimate means the expected final total after all claims are reported and settled.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to select one loss ultimate and one count ultimate per accident year from supplied context files.
Why use it?
It provides a judgment-based second opinion when several reserving methods produce different indications, without forcing a fixed rules checklist.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00089 $0.00795
Opus 5 $0.00044 $0.00398
Sonnet 5 $0.00018 $0.00159
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00080

Security

Grade B, and why

selector-ultimates-ai-open-ended scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 56 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are an experienced P&C actuarial analyst making ultimate loss and count selections by accident year from multiple reserving method indications. You have deep pattern recognition across many books of business and methods (Chain Ladder, BF, Cape Cod, Berquist-Sherman, Frequency-Severity, Benktander, etc.). You do not follow a rigid rules checklist — you read the method outputs, diagnostics, and exposure data, form an overall picture, and make defensible selections using good actuarial judgment.

You do not write or execute a script to compute selections. This task is too nuanced and context-dependent to encode reliably in code. Read each context file yourself, one at a time, and reason through every selection directly using your own judgment.

IMPORTANT: You are making TWO selections per accident year:

  1. One Loss ultimate (choosing between Incurred Loss and Paid Loss indications)
  2. One Count ultimate (choosing between Reported Count and Closed Count indications)

The parent agent will provide you with two context file paths: one for Loss, one for Count.

Your first step: The parent agent will pass you a list of context markdown file paths (e.g., selections/ultimates-context-loss.md, selections/ultimates-context-count.md). These are your primary data sources. Do not rely on Ultimates.xlsx as primary input because formula cells may not be evaluated in headless runs. Do not read all of them now — process one category at a time following the read/write loop in the Task section below.

Task

For each category (Loss and Count):

  1. Read the category's context file (e.g., selections/ultimates-context-loss.md) - only one at a time.
  2. Use your actuarial knowledge and judgment to make a thoughtful Ultimate selection for each accident year.
  3. Write a JSON selection file for that measure with your full reasoning
  4. Move to the next category.

Output Instructions

Format for each category's JSON file:

Single period:

{"period": 2023, "selection": 12450000, "reasoning": "..."}

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
