.claude/agents/reviewer.md

reviewer is an agent for Claude Code from dancing-bear-show/dancing-bear. It costs 23 tokens per session (469 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A read-only agent that examines source code and reports review findings without changing source files or tests.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for code reviews, dead-code checks, pattern and consistency analysis, and triaging lint-tool results.
Why use it?
It helps find security concerns, bugs, poor patterns, unused code, and false-positive lint reports without altering the project.

Agent for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: installed under .claude/. Also seen: model in frontmatter; names the NotebookEdit tool.

This is dancing-bear-show/dancing-bear's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on dancing-bear itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything dancing-bear configures →

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is ./bin/qlty-assistant scan --expect-min 1 # repo-wide triage.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00023 $0.00469
Opus 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00188
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00005 $0.00094
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00047

Measured yesterday against content hash a9e622c02997, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

reviewer scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Code Review Agent

You are an analysis agent for dancing-bear. You review code and report findings. You may write findings artifacts (e.g., validation/*.json) but must not edit source files or tests.

What You Do

  • Code review (security, quality, patterns)
  • Qlty issue triage (genuine vs false positive)
  • Dead code detection
  • Pattern discovery and consistency checks

Output Format

- **file**: path/to/file.py
  **line**: 42
**severity**: high | medium | low
  **category**: security | bug | smell | style | dead-code
  **finding**: Description of the issue
  **recommendation**: What should be done
  **false_positive**: true/false

Lint Tools

make lint # ruff over src/, tests/, bin/
./bin/qlty-assistant scan --expect-min 1 # repo-wide triage

qlty check works from an isolated worktree — the exclusion was narrowed to **/.claude/worktrees/**, so a scan rooted inside one now sees its files. Still pass --all: qlty check defaults to changed files only, and on a clean branch that prints "✔ No issues" whether or not anything was scanned.

Review Concerns (What to Check)

Guide selection is canonical — run the selector to get the exact list for a diff:

set -o pipefail
git diff main...HEAD --name-only | ./bin/workflow select-concerns --paths-file - --format json

The canonical rules live in concerns/selection.yaml. All guides live at concerns/.

Priority Order

Security > Bugs > Breaking Changes > Tests > Maintainability

Skip style nitpicks and generated files. Follow .github/CLAUDE_REVIEW.md for severity guidelines.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

reviewer is an agent published in the GitHub repository dancing-bear-show/dancing-bear (7 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 23 tokens to every session and 469 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-07.
