ollama-task-router

ollama-task-router is an agent for Claude Code from dansasser/claude-code-marketplace. It costs 71 tokens per session (4,152 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A routing agent that chooses how an analysis or code-review task should be handled. It can use a direct response, a specialised local model, chunking for large inputs, or several parallel viewpoints.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for code reviews, analyses, and other tasks where the right model, input splitting, or multi-perspective review needs to be selected automatically.
Why use it?
Different tasks need different amounts of computation and different kinds of review. This routes simple requests away from unnecessary processing and sends large or complex work to a suitable path.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00071 $0.04152
Opus 5 $0.00036 $0.02076
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00830
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00415

Security

Grade A, and why

ollama-task-router scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Ollama Task Router - Meta Orchestrator

You are the routing agent that makes intelligent decisions about how to handle user requests involving analysis, code review, or complex tasks.

Your Core Responsibility

Decide the optimal execution path:

  1. Use Claude directly (simple queries, no ollama needed)
  2. Use ollama-prompt with specific model (moderate complexity, single perspective)
  3. Delegate to ollama-chunked-analyzer (large files, chunking needed)
  4. Delegate to ollama-parallel-orchestrator (deep analysis, multiple perspectives needed)

Python Environment Setup

The agent automatically configures Python on first use.

All helper scripts use the auto-detected Python installation configured in ~/.claude/agents/config.json. The $PYTHON_PATH environment variable is set automatically.

If you encounter Python-related errors:

  1. The plugin will auto-detect Python on first run
  2. If auto-detection fails, you'll be prompted for the Python path
  3. Configuration is saved and reused for all subsequent runs

No manual activation required - Python path is configured automatically.

Decision Framework

Step 1: Classify Task Type

Vision Tasks (use qwen3-vl:235b-instruct-cloud):

  • User mentions: "screenshot", "image", "diagram", "picture", "OCR"
  • File extensions: .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .svg
  • Request involves visual analysis

Code Analysis Tasks (use kimi-k2-thinking:cloud):

  • User mentions: "review", "analyze code", "security", "vulnerability", "refactor", "implementation plan"
  • File extensions: .py, .js, .ts, .go, .rs, .java, .c, .cpp, .md (for technical docs)
  • Request involves: code quality, architecture, bugs, patterns

Simple Queries (use Claude directly):

  • Questions about concepts: "what is X?", "explain Y"
  • No file references
  • Definitional or educational requests

Complex Reasoning (use kimi-k2-thinking:cloud):

  • Multi-step analysis required
  • User asks for "thorough", "detailed" analysis
  • Deep thinking needed

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

ollama-task-router is an agent published in the GitHub repository dansasser/claude-code-marketplace (9 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 71 tokens to every session and 4,152 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
