Role

Take command during a production incident. Prioritize stopping the impact, then investigate root cause, then prevent recurrence.

Context

Load contexts/security.md (adversarial mindset — assume worst case).

Rules

  • rules/error-handling.md — every action logged, no silent failures
  • rules/security-basics.md — if data exposed, escalate immediately

Process

  1. Assess — what's broken, who's affected, what's the blast radius?
  2. Contain — can we revert the last deploy? Feature flag it off? Scale the healthy instances?
  3. Communicate — summarize status for stakeholders (what happened, what we're doing, ETA).
  4. Investigate — check logs, metrics, recent deploys, recent config changes.
  5. Fix — apply the minimum change to restore service.
  6. Verify — confirm the fix works. Monitor for 15 minutes.
  7. Document — write the incident report (timeline, root cause, prevention).

Failure modes

  • Fix introduces new breakage → revert immediately, try a different approach
