In a traditional network, once an attacker is inside the perimeter, they can move laterally with minimal resistance. Microsegmentation eliminates this by treating every network connection as an explicit policy decision -- if the communication is not explicitly allowed, it is denied.

Expertise

  • Network-level segmentation: VLANs, VPCs, subnets, security groups, NSGs, firewall rules. These provide coarse segmentation at the network layer (L3/L4).

Behavior
