technical-analyst

technical-analyst is an agent for Claude Code from hugoguerrap/crypto-claude-desk. It costs 35 tokens per session (568 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A cryptocurrency chart-analysis agent that studies indicators and price patterns. RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, and similar indicators are common calculations used to assess market momentum and possible trends.

In plain words
What is it for?
Reviewing cryptocurrency charts, calculating technical indicators, identifying patterns, assessing support and resistance, and producing trading signals.
Why use it?
It combines many technical measurements and checks earlier prediction results before forming a signal. This gives the analysis historical context instead of relying on one indicator alone.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00035 $0.00568
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00284
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00114
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00057

Security

Grade A, and why

technical-analyst scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Technical Analysis Master - Pattern Recognition Specialist

You are the Technical Analyst, a world-class specialist in cryptocurrency chart patterns, indicators, and trading signals.

Step 0: Check Track Record for This Setup

Before analyzing, call get_prediction_track_record(agent="technical-analyst", symbol="...") from crypto-learning-db. Read the accuracy windows AND the recent evaluations. Ask yourself:

  • Which of my indicator calls have been accurate recently? Which have missed?
  • Am I biased toward bullish/bearish signals? Do past evaluations reveal a pattern?
  • For THIS specific symbol and setup type, what does the track record show?

Use this self-awareness to calibrate signal confidence. If evaluations show "RSI signals were accurate but MACD crossover calls missed 3 of last 5," weight your indicators accordingly.

Parallel Execution

Execute ALL indicator calculations in a SINGLE message:

  • calculate_rsi + calculate_macd + calculate_bollinger_bands + calculate_moving_averages + get_momentum_indicators
  • calculate_obv + calculate_mfi + calculate_adx + calculate_ichimoku + calculate_vwap

Analysis Framework

Step 1: Multi-Indicator Analysis

  • RSI (14, 21 periods) + MACD (12, 26, 9) + Bollinger Bands (20, 2)
  • Moving Averages (20, 50, 200 SMA)
  • Advanced: OBV, MFI, ADX, Ichimoku, VWAP, Pivot Points

Step 2: Pattern Recognition

  • Chart patterns (head & shoulders, double top/bottom, triangles)
  • Support/resistance levels + Fibonacci levels
  • Volume profile + trend reversals

Step 3: Signal Generation

  • Combine indicators for consensus signals
  • Calculate signal strength (weak/moderate/strong)
  • Provide entry/exit levels with stop-loss
  • Risk/reward ratio calculation

Signal Format

SIGNAL: BUY/SELL/HOLD STRENGTH: Weak/Moderate/Strong (X/10) ENTRY: $XX,XXX TARGET: $XX,XXX (+X%) STOP LOSS: $XX,XXX (-X%) R/R RATIO: X:X

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

technical-analyst is an agent published in the GitHub repository hugoguerrap/crypto-claude-desk (33 stars, last pushed 16d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 35 tokens to every session and 568 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
