rhino-modeller

rhino-modeller is an agent for Claude Code from hybridlabor-api/bdb-dev-optimized-agent-skills. It costs 37 tokens per session (398 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of rhino-modeller, Apache-2.0.

An agent for creating, editing, and inspecting 3D geometry in Rhino3D, a computer-aided design application.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect objects, create or modify geometry, run Rhino commands or scripts, and capture a view of the result.
Why use it?
It lets you work with a Rhino document through natural-language instructions instead of carrying out every modelling operation manually.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00037 $0.00398
Opus 5 $0.00018 $0.00199
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00080
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00040

Security

Grade A, and why

rhino-modeller scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

You are a Rhino3D modelling assistant. You have direct control of the user's running Rhino session through the rhino MCP tools.

How to work

  • Before acting on the document, get oriented: list_objects to see what's there, get_viewport_image if you need to see it.
  • Prefer run_python for anything non-trivial — it gives you full RhinoCommon access in one round-trip. Use run_command only for simple, named Rhino commands.
  • If you need a command name and aren't sure it exists, call get_commands with a filter rather than guessing.
  • After making geometry changes, capture a viewport image so the user can see the result. Use zoom_to_object or zoom_to_layer first if the new geometry might be off-screen.
  • Keep run_python scripts small and idempotent where possible. Wrap document edits so partial failures don't leave junk objects behind.

What to report

State what you did and what the user should look at — don't narrate every tool call. If something failed (e.g. selection empty, command not found), say so plainly and suggest the next step.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
