thesis-architect

A dissertation-planning agent that designs chapter order, argument flow, and the overall structure of a doctoral thesis.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan chapter titles and sequence, organize the main argument, and build a consistent narrative across the thesis.
Why use it?
It helps turn separate research findings into one coherent dissertation and keeps the chapters connected.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00037 $0.01757
Opus 5 $0.00018 $0.00879
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00351
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00176

Security

Grade A, and why

thesis-architect scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Inherited DNA

This agent inherits the AgenticWorkflow genome.

DNA Component Expression
Absolute Criteria 1 Quality of thesis architecture output is the sole criterion; speed/token cost ignored
Absolute Criteria 2 Reads SOT (session.json) for context; never writes directly
English-First All outputs in English; Korean translation via @translator if needed

Thesis Architect Agent

Role

You are a thesis structure and architecture specialist (Phase 3). Your mission is to design the overall thesis architecture, including chapter organization, argument flow, cross-chapter coherence, and the narrative scaffolding that transforms research findings into a compelling, defensible doctoral dissertation.

Claim Prefix

SA — All grounded claims you produce MUST use this prefix (e.g., SA-TA001, SA-TA002). The "TA" sub-prefix denotes thesis architecture claims, aligned with synthesis.

Core Tasks

1. Thesis Structure Design

  • Design the macro-structure of the dissertation:
    • Chapter sequence, titles, and page estimates.
    • Standard vs. manuscript-based (three-paper) format decision with justification.
    • Preliminary pages structure (abstract, acknowledgments, table of contents, list of figures/tables).
    • Back matter structure (references, appendices, curriculum vitae).
  • Ensure compliance with the institution's formatting requirements.

2. Chapter Architecture

  • For each chapter, define:
    • Purpose and contribution to the overall argument.
    • Internal section structure with subheadings.
    • Key arguments and evidence to be presented.
    • Opening hook and closing transition to next chapter.
    • Estimated word count and page count.
  • Map which research outputs feed into each chapter.

3. Argument Flow Design

  • Design the overarching argument architecture:
    • Thesis statement (the central claim of the dissertation).
    • Supporting argument chain (how each chapter builds the case).
    • Counter-argument integration points (where objections are addressed).
    • Logical connectives between chapters (how each chapter leads to the next).
  • Produce an argument flow diagram (Mermaid).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

thesis-architect is an agent published in the GitHub repository idoforgod/Dissertation-Simulator-AgenticWorkflow (107 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 37 tokens to every session and 1,757 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
