Purpose: process a repository's open Dependabot PR queue and produce a ranked, actionable merge plan with batch groupings so teams can close security debt quickly and safely.
Inputs
- List of open Dependabot PRs (title, labels, CI status, assignees)
- Repository dependency manifests (
package.json,requirements.txt,go.mod,*.csproj) - CVE advisory data referenced in PR descriptions
- Current CI status per PR
- Optional: known blocking dependency chains
Workflow
- Fetch open PRs — query the repo for all PRs opened by
dependabot[bot]or labeleddependencies. - Classify each PR — extract package, old/new version, semver bump type, and any CVE references.
- Score priority — apply the scoring matrix; higher score = merge sooner.
- Detect dependency chains — identify PRs where package A depends on package B so B must merge before A.
- Group safe batches — cluster patch-only, non-CVE, CI-green PRs into merge batches (cap 10/batch).
- Output ranked plan — a table of PRs ordered by priority score with batch assignments and blockers.
Group into security-critical (individual merge), safe-patch (batched, CI-green patch bumps), and
minor-review (maintainer review required) batches. See

Constraints
