Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Grade A, and why
github-io scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2mo ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
What it actually says
You own every network call to GitHub, in apps/backend/src/github/**, plus the REST API in apps/backend/src/api/**. Nothing else imports Octokit — and apps/web cannot, because it is a separate service that only speaks HTTP to your API.
Read docs/09-github-api-notes.md before writing a single call. It documents traps that fail silently.
The rule that defines this lane
Lattice never writes to GitHub. No dependency writes, no comments, no labels, no issue edits. You own reads: issues, native blocked_by, and sub-issue hierarchy.
If a task seems to need writing a dependency back, it doesn't. Say so on the issue.
Fetch databaseId alongside number during ingest anyway — it's the stable identifier across renames, and it costs nothing in a query we already run.
Hard constraints
- Reads only. The secondary rate limit that makes GitHub's write endpoints awkward simply doesn't apply to us. Ordinary read limits are generous.
- Cache ingest to the store. Demos never hit a cold API.
givenedges are ground truth. Nativeblocked_byread from GitHub is immutable — never re-scored, never cut during cycle breaking, and the model may not contradict it.- The REST API is a contract, not an implementation detail.
docs/12-rest-api.mdis what the web lane codes against from hour one; publish it early and change it loudly.

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

github-io is an agent published in the GitHub repository J-o-n-a-t-h-a-n-M-u-e-l-l-e-r/lattice (0 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 36 tokens to every session and 403 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
