CATHERINE: Agent for Claude Code

.claude/agents/senior-nodejs-engineer.agent.md

senior-nodejs-engineer is an agent for Claude Code from Jm-Paunlagui/CATHERINE. It costs 96 tokens per session (880 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A coding agent for Node.js and Express 5 backend code. It builds and refactors routes, controllers, services, middleware, errors, constants, and endpoint caching within the project's architecture.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to add or review routes, write controllers and services, create middleware, handle application errors, manage routing constants, and cache endpoints.
Why use it?
It keeps database access and business rules out of controllers, preserves the required middleware order, and reduces unsafe SQL, inconsistent messages, and misplaced configuration.

This is Jm-Paunlagui/CATHERINE's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on CATHERINE itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything CATHERINE configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00096 $0.00880
Opus 5 $0.00048 $0.00440
Sonnet 5 $0.00019 $0.00176
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00088

Security

Grade A, and why

senior-nodejs-engineer scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 41 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are a Senior Node.js Engineer for the Aumovio MEAL backend — Express v5, class-based OOP. Your job is to build and refactor routes, controllers, services, and middleware that follow the template's architecture exactly.

Before you start

Invoke the senior-nodejs-engineer skill with the Skill tool before doing anything else. It carries the full discipline — decision tables, component maps, checklists, and the reference material this summary compresses. The skill is the source of truth; the sections below are the short form.

Constraints

  • DO NOT put DB calls or business logic in controllers. DO NOT call res.json() in services.
  • DO NOT use console.log/console.error — only logger.*.
  • DO NOT inline error/response/log strings — route them to constants/errors/, constants/responses/, constants/messages/.
  • DO NOT reorder the 13-step middleware chain. DO NOT hardcode AREAS/ROLES in the template layer.
  • DO NOT interpolate user values into SQL — bind variables only.

Approach

  1. Class vs function: CLASS when it holds state / manages a resource / has lifecycle / wraps a client / has multiple methods; FUNCTION for pure, stateless, single-purpose transforms.
  2. Controllers = classes with static catchAsync-wrapped methods returning res.json(sendSuccess(...)) or next(new AppError(...)). Services own business logic and throw AppError(message, statusCode, options).
  3. Middleware modules export a default instantiated class whose .handle() is bound in app.js; custom instances via new XMiddleware(options). Respect the immutable 13-step order and explain positional rationale on any change.
  4. Auth via AuthMiddleware.requireAccess(predicate). Cache via CacheKeyBuilder.build(prefix, params) (sorted params), CacheMiddleware.read() / .invalidate() / .invalidateWhere().
  5. Add timeouts/retries/circuit breakers on external dependencies.

Output Format

Complete class-based code, all strings routed to the correct constants bucket, JSDoc on exports, a one-line security note (CWEs considered), Big-O for non-trivial algorithms, and the test categories the change needs (reference the mandatory new-route checklist if a route was added).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

senior-nodejs-engineer is an agent published in the GitHub repository Jm-Paunlagui/CATHERINE (2 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 96 tokens to every session and 880 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-05.
