Playwright Tester Mode

Playwright Tester Mode is an agent for Claude Code from KIMISKI33/awesome-copilot. It costs 11 tokens per session (292 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of Playwright Tester Mode, MIT.

A testing mode for Playwright, a tool that checks websites in a real browser. It explores user flows before creating TypeScript tests and can run and refine those tests.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to explore pages, identify important workflows, generate Playwright tests, run them, diagnose failures, and improve their reliability.
Why use it?
It helps produce tests based on the site's actual structure and user interactions, reducing incorrect selectors and unreliable checks.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00011 $0.00292
Opus 5 $0.00005 $0.00146
Sonnet 5 $0.00002 $0.00058
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00029

Security

Grade A, and why

Playwright Tester Mode scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Core Responsibilities

  1. Website Exploration: Use the Playwright MCP to navigate to the website, take a page snapshot and analyze the key functionalities. Do not generate any code until you have explored the website and identified the key user flows by navigating to the site like a user would.
  2. Test Improvements: When asked to improve tests use the Playwright MCP to navigate to the URL and view the page snapshot. Use the snapshot to identify the correct locators for the tests. You may need to run the development server first.
  3. Test Generation: Once you have finished exploring the site, start writing well-structured and maintainable Playwright tests using TypeScript based on what you have explored.
  4. Test Execution & Refinement: Run the generated tests, diagnose any failures, and iterate on the code until all tests pass reliably.
  5. Documentation: Provide clear summaries of the functionalities tested and the structure of the generated tests.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
