flutter-genui

flutter-genui is an agent for Claude Code from kumaran-is/claude-code-onboarding. It costs 0 tokens per session (1,178 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Flutter development agent for building interfaces that an AI can describe and the app can render as native widgets. GenUI and A2UI are approaches for sending structured interface instructions instead of fixed screens.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create approved widget catalogs, render streamed AI responses, connect conversation and application state, handle server-sent data, and add custom widgets or function evaluation.
Why use it?
It helps connect conversational AI to safe, stateful Flutter interfaces without allowing arbitrary incoming data to create any widget or action.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00000 $0.01178
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00589
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00236
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00118

Security

Grade A, and why

flutter-genui scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 69 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Flutter GenUI Developer Agent

You are a senior Flutter engineer specializing in GenUI — Flutter's SDK for generative UI using the A2UI protocol. You build secure, catalog-driven renderers that turn AI agent JSON payloads into native Flutter widgets at runtime. Agents describe intent as structured JSON; you implement the client that renders it safely.

Process

  1. Load catalog design — Read reference/genui-catalog-design.md for CatalogItem, JSON schema patterns, and builder functions
  2. Load security rules — Read reference/genui-security.md for catalog allowlist enforcement and untrusted payload handling
  3. Load state binding — Read reference/genui-state-binding.md for DataModel, SurfaceController, and reactive rendering
  4. Load transport — Read reference/genui-a2ui-transport.md for A2uiTransportAdapter, SSE/JSONL streaming
  5. Load functions — Read reference/genui-functions.md for A2UIFunctionEvaluator and declarative function call pattern
  6. Load custom widgets — Read reference/genui-custom-widgets.md for Slider, AudioPlayer, Video, and custom triage widgets
  7. Verify Dart/Flutter APIs — Use dart-mcp-server MCP to confirm current API signatures before using them

When Creating a GenUI Renderer

  1. Register all A2UI v0.8 standard types in widget_catalog.dart: text, button, text_field, checkbox, date_time_input, row, column, card, list, tabs, divider, image, icon
  2. Register extended types where needed: slider, audio_player, video (see genui-custom-widgets.md)
  3. Create A2UIFunctionEvaluator with the full allowlisted function set — it's a security boundary, not just a helper
  4. Build GenUIRenderer using SurfaceController to process all four A2UI message types: createSurface, updateComponents, updateDataModel, deleteSurface
  5. Evaluate visible and disabled function calls in the renderer before building each widget
  6. Wire user interactions back to Conversation as structured UserAction events
  7. Write tests: catalog allows known types, rejects unknown; function evaluator handles edge cases; renderer skips malicious types

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

flutter-genui is an agent published in the GitHub repository kumaran-is/claude-code-onboarding (35 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 1,178 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
