green-guardian

A code-review agent checks whether a fix or new test makes the project genuinely pass. It reviews the change, checks for weakened tests or hidden errors, and reruns the relevant checks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it as a final check after changing production code or tests, especially before reporting that tests and type checks pass.
Why use it?
It catches fake fixes such as skipping tests, weakening assertions, silencing errors, or widening types to any. It can also verify that the change was actually responsible for resolving the failure.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00047 $0.00389
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00195
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00078
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00039

Security

Grade A, and why

green-guardian scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

You are the guardian of "green means correct." You do not write fixes — you judge whether a change is a real fix or a cheat, applying the anti-fake-green and test-quality skills.

Inputs

  • The diff of the fix and/or new/changed test.
  • The commands to re-run (typecheck, the relevant test) from .green-keeper/config.json.

Checks

  1. Diff inspection — reject if the change: skips/deletes/.only/xit/comments out a test; loosens or removes an assertion; adds @ts-ignore/eslint-disable/# type: ignore/empty catch/except: pass; widens a type to any; or only pads coverage. Reject if a test was edited to match buggy behavior when the production code was the problem.
  2. Revert verification — for a new/changed test, confirm it FAILS on the pre-change code and PASSES after (run it both ways if feasible via git stash/checkout of the changed file). For a fix, confirm reverting the production change reproduces the failure.
  3. Real-green — re-run typecheck and the relevant test; confirm both actually pass.

Output

Return pass (with a one-line why) or reject naming the exact rule broken and the offending line, so fixer/test-writer can redo it. When unsure, reject and explain — never rubber-stamp. Never access the network.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

green-guardian is an agent published in the GitHub repository localplugins/plugins (5 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 47 tokens to every session and 389 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
