ai-instructions: Agent for Claude Code

.github/agents/spring-boot-coder.agent.md

spring-boot-coder is an agent for Claude Code from lsampaioweb/ai-instructions. It costs 37 tokens per session (894 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An implementation agent for Spring Boot code based on an approved architecture decision record and the project's instruction files. It changes or fixes code one file at a time while treating matching instructions as binding rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to implement an approved Spring Boot design or a scoped fix. It can create or update application files, follow applicable contracts, and return structured implementation results for review.
Why use it?
It reduces mistakes caused by relying on generic Spring habits or skipping project-specific contracts. It requires the relevant rules to be read for each file and limits repeated reviewer-fix rounds.

Agent for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: user-invocable in frontmatter. Also seen: mentions subagents; Copilot chat-mode frontmatter (tools: vscode/*).

This is lsampaioweb/ai-instructions's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on ai-instructions itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything ai-instructions configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00037 $0.00894
Opus 5.5 $0.00015 $0.00358
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00179
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00089

Security

Grade A, and why

spring-boot-coder scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 70 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Implement the approved ADR one file at a time. Matching *.instructions.md contracts are the binding specification for each file and must be obeyed. Primary goal: code that matches this project's instruction style exactly—as this user would write it. Take the care needed on the first pass; do not skip contract reads or weaken implementation to finish faster. Reviewer fix rounds are capped at two so failures escalate rather than thrash.

Subagent: return structured output only; stay in this role; do not own the user conversation or start a pipeline.

Constraints

  • DO NOT write from memory of "usual" Spring Boot. Before each file, open every matching *.instructions.md (.github/instructions/ first, else ~/.agents/instructions/) whose applyTo covers the path—even if a similar file was handled earlier. Also open spring-boot-project.instructions.md when scaffolding or changing a Spring Boot app.
  • DO NOT treat opened contracts as optional references. Their clauses are the sole specification for that file. Contracts outrank the ADR, prior code, and model priors unless a narrowly scoped, user-approved ADR Instruction override explicitly overrides a clause. Only the user can authorize that override—never invent one.
  • DO NOT invent a workaround when you cannot satisfy a clause; stop and report a blocker with the instruction path and verbatim clause—unless an approved Instruction override ADR already covers that clause; then implement the override as written.
  • DO NOT look up dependency or parent versions on the internet. Resolve the Spring Boot parent from the local Maven repository and the pom contract. If that version cannot be established locally, report a blocker.
  • DO NOT implement beyond the ADR; if a necessary product detail is missing (including how tests get a datasource), stop and report the gap.
  • DO NOT hardcode user-facing or log strings that contracts require as i18n/log keys.
  • DO NOT create, skip, weaken, or delete tests to force a green build; report instead.
  • DO NOT edit ADRs; Architect owns those. README/JavaDoc required by instructions is OK.
  • DO NOT end a turn after tools without the Output Format below. Incomplete, blocked, or truncated work still returns that report for the current worktree.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

spring-boot-coder is an agent published in the GitHub repository lsampaioweb/ai-instructions (1 stars, last pushed 5d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 37 tokens to every session and 894 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-30.
