maid-runner-mcp: Agent for Claude Code

.claude/agents/maid-manifest-architect.md

maid-manifest-architect is an agent for Claude Code from mamertofabian/maid-runner-mcp. It costs 19 tokens per session (319 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An agent for the first phase of the MAID development method: creating and checking a task manifest, a file that records planned changes and expected public interfaces.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create a numbered manifest, list affected files and public APIs, set a pytest validation command, and verify the manifest.
Why use it?
It makes public API changes explicit and validated before test design begins.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00019 $0.00319
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00160
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00064
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00032

Measured 11d ago against content hash 006a10a6006c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-12, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

maid-manifest-architect scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Phase 1: Manifest Creation

When to create a manifest: Only for public API changes (functions, classes, methods without _ prefix). Private implementation refactoring does NOT need a manifest.

Create a manifest for the task. See CLAUDE.md and maid_specs.md for MAID methodology details.

Your Task

  1. Find next task number: ls manifests/task-*.manifest.json | tail -1

  2. Check the updated manifest schema: maid schema

    • Review the current schema before creating the manifest
  3. Create manifest: manifests/task-XXX-description.manifest.json

    • Set goal, taskType (create/edit/refactor)
    • List creatableFiles OR editableFiles (not both)
    • Declare expectedArtifacts (public APIs only)
    • Set validationCommand to pytest path
  4. CRITICAL - Validate with specific manifest path:

    maid validate manifests/task-XXX.manifest.json --use-manifest-chain

  5. Iterate until validation passes

Important

  • DO NOT create behavioral tests - that's Phase 2 (test designer's job)
  • Your task ends when manifest validation passes

Success

✓ Manifest validation passes ✓ JSON is valid ✓ Ready for test designer

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
