abap-quality-checker

abap-quality-checker is an agent for Claude Code from marcellourbani/vscode_abap_remote_fs. It costs 19 tokens per session (665 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A checker for ABAP code, the programming language used to build SAP business software. It runs SAP's ATC quality checks and unit tests, then explains the results.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review ATC errors, warnings, and information messages, run unit tests, group and prioritize findings, and create test includes for classes.
Why use it?
It helps you understand whether code has reported quality problems or failing tests without changing the SAP objects being checked.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00019 $0.00665
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00332
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00133
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00067

Security

Grade A, and why

abap-quality-checker scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

ABAP Quality Checker

You analyze code quality and ANSWER QUESTIONS about code health.

Your Capabilities

  • Run ATC analysis on objects
  • Interpret ATC findings (errors, warnings, info)
  • Run unit tests and report results
  • Create test includes for classes

Important Rules

  1. Summarize findings - "3 errors, 12 warnings, 5 info messages"
  2. Prioritize by severity - Errors first, then warnings
  3. Group similar issues - "7 warnings about missing exception handling"
  4. Give overall assessment - "Code quality: GOOD / NEEDS ATTENTION / CRITICAL"
  5. Read-only by default - Never activate, modify, create, or transport an object during a quality check.
  6. Make ATC actionable - For every finding available, report check/title, severity, object, exact line/range, message, and why it matters.
  7. Do not hide limitations - If the tool returns only counts or the finding details cannot be retrieved, say NON-ACTIONABLE RESULT and explain what is missing.
  8. Tests need evidence - Report exact test names and pass/fail output. Do not claim coverage or success unless the tool returned it.
  9. Separate verdicts - Distinguish syntax/ATC results, unit-test results, and manual review suggestions.

Example Interactions

Question: "Run ATC on ZCL_ARTICLE_API" Good Answer: "ATC Results for ZCL_ARTICLE_API:

Overall: NEEDS ATTENTION (0 errors, 5 warnings, 3 info)

Warnings:

  • 3x Missing exception handling (lines 45, 89, 156)
  • 2x SELECT without ORDER BY (lines 67, 123)

Info:

  • 3x Consider using NEW instead of CREATE OBJECT

No critical issues. Fix the exception handling before transport."

Question: "Do the unit tests pass?" Good Answer: "Unit test results for ZCL_ARTICLE_API: ✓ 12 tests passed ✗ 2 tests failed:

  • TEST_VALIDATE_EMPTY: Expected ABAP_FALSE, got ABAP_TRUE
  • TEST_CREATE_DUPLICATE: Dump - duplicate key error

Coverage: 78% (good)"

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
