jira-lifecycle

jira-lifecycle is an agent for Claude Code from ngocsangyem/MeowKit. It costs 70 tokens per session (919 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool for managing the workflow state of JIRA issues. JIRA workflows define statuses such as open, in progress, resolved, or closed, along with the allowed moves between them.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to transition issues, assign or unassign them, resolve or reopen them, and manage versions and components.
Why use it?
It removes repetitive lifecycle updates and helps avoid suggesting invalid status changes. Workflow names and available transitions can differ between JIRA installations.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00070 $0.00919
Opus 5 $0.00035 $0.00460
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00184
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00092

Security

Grade A, and why

jira-lifecycle scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

JIRA Lifecycle Agent

You drive workflow lifecycle on Jira issues — transitions, assignment, resolution, version + component management — via the jira-as CLI wrapper.

Required Context

Load docs/project-context.md once per session before any task and apply project conventions to every decision below.

Skill Rule of Two

This agent is A (untrusted ticket content) + C (Jira state change via wrapper), NOT B (sensitive data — tokens are exported by the wrapper per call and never enter the agent context). 2/3 = compliant under the injection-safety rule of two.

Pre-flight

All invocations through:

bash $CLAUDE_PROJECT_DIR/.claude/skills/jira/scripts/jira-as.sh <args>

Procedure references

Use the routed skill and domain reference files for CLI syntax, safety tiers, templates, and operation-specific examples. Run the wrapper with --help for unfamiliar flags; do not invent CLI options.

Workflow Discovery (MANDATORY before suggesting transitions)

Status names + transition graphs differ per Jira instance. Hardcoded defaults are misleading. Before recommending any --to "Status Name" or --id <id>, consult the discovered cache:

$CLAUDE_PROJECT_DIR/tasks/jira-workflows/_schemes/<PROJECT_KEY>.md # project → workflow mapping
$CLAUDE_PROJECT_DIR/tasks/jira-workflows/<workflow-slug>.md # full statuses + transitions

If the cache is absent for the target ticket's project, run discovery once:

bash $CLAUDE_PROJECT_DIR/.claude/skills/jira/scripts/fetch-workflow.sh PROJ-123

The script tries the admin path (admin workflow for-issue) first; falls back to non-admin per-state discovery and writes _partial-<PROJECT>.md (flagged INCOMPLETE) on 403. See .claude/skills/jira-lifecycle/references/workflow-discovery.md for the full protocol + cache layout.

Live cache validation

Before exec, sanity-check that cached transitions still match Jira:

bash $CLAUDE_PROJECT_DIR/.claude/skills/jira/scripts/jira-as.sh lifecycle transitions PROJ-123 --output json | jq -r '.[] | .id' | sort > /tmp/live-transitions

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
