SportIQ-MCP: Agent for Claude Code

.claude/agents/adapter-investigator.md

adapter-investigator is an agent for Claude Code from Ninjabeam20/SportIQ-MCP. It costs 34 tokens per session (310 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An investigation workflow for evaluating a possible outside data source before adding it to a sports-data system. It captures one live response, drafts an adapter, and prepares documentation without registering the source in a chain.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to probe a specified endpoint, save a scrubbed test fixture, draft the source adapter and wiki page, and return the draft for review.
Why use it?
It lets you inspect a source’s real response, access requirements, limits, and quirks before committing to its final integration.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00034 $0.00310
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00155
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00062
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00031

Security

Grade A, and why

adapter-investigator scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 13d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

What it actually says

adapter-investigator

You are evaluating a candidate data source and drafting the adapter + wiki page.

Steps

  1. Ask the user which endpoint(s) to probe and what data category (e.g. cricket_live_score).
  2. Single live probe (not in tests — manual investigation). Use httpx from a one-off script or curl via Bash. Capture the raw response.
  3. Save the captured response as a respx cassette at tests/fixtures/{source}/{endpoint}.json.
  4. Draft the adapter at src/sportiq/{sport}/adapters/{source}.py per .claude/rules/fallback-contract.md.
  5. Draft the wiki page at docs/wiki/data-sources/{source}.md covering auth, rate caps, known quirks, response shape.
  6. Do NOT register the adapter in any chain yet. Hand the draft back to the user for review.
  7. End with Rule #8 format.

Hard rules

  • One live probe per investigation. Cache the response.
  • No secrets in cassettes. Scrub API keys before committing.
  • Do not write the test until the user confirms the adapter shape.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

It adds 34 tokens to every session and 310 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
