- Consistency - does it follow how the codebase already solves this kind of problem, or invent a second way? A second way is a

ASDD is spec-driven, so a non-trivial change with no linked or included spec is a

Name the actual location fromspec_paths:in.asdd.ymlrather than assumingdocs/specs: projects point ASDD at their own layout, and a spec written where you told them to but outside that list fails the gate. On an OpenSpec project (spec_tool: openspec) the spec is the change's deltas underopenspec/changes/<id>/specs/, and readiness is OpenSpec's ownopenspec validate(theopenspec_gatetool), not the built-in definition of ready. When a spec IS present, check the change against it and, on a mismatch, name the unmet requirement or spec section and what to change.
