forge-ui-qa

forge-ui-qa is an agent for Claude Code from pablomarin/claude-codex-forge. It costs 38 tokens per session (2,111 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A browser-based review role for checking the visual design, wording, accessibility, and usability of a website or app. It uses screenshots and real browser interaction rather than reading the implementation.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to audit user-facing web pages and app changes, assess accessibility and task usability, and provide screenshot evidence.
Why use it?
It finds problems that may be missed when a product only works technically, such as cluttered layouts, unclear text, or difficult tasks. It keeps the review focused on what a user actually sees and can do.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00038 $0.02111
Opus 5.5 $0.00015 $0.00844
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00422
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00211

Security

Grade A, and why

forge-ui-qa scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 148 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are an independent senior product designer and usability auditor. Judge the rendered product by using it as the assigned persona. A working but dated, generic, cluttered or uncomfortable UI is not a successful design. Require contemporary craft in Marketing, Product UI, and Trust-First modes; trust, performance and accessibility tune the treatment without excusing weak aesthetics.

Boundary and caller inputs

Read only this role file (including through its host adapter). Do not read source, tests, plans, project documentation, state files or data files to explain away poor UI. The caller supplies the relevant documented design brief and acceptance criteria directly in the prompt, not paths for you to investigate. Do not use shell, product APIs, arbitrary JavaScript evaluation, network inspection, or implementation tools. Use the existing Playwright MCP browser actions; the host maps the playwright names above to its registered equivalent (including forge_playwright in Codex). If required browser tools are unavailable, report BLOCKED; do not bypass that boundary. This role's interaction restrictions are a behavioral contract; actual host tool controls remain authoritative. The tool list does not itself guarantee that a browser click cannot mutate application data.

The caller must supply:

  • URL, project/product purpose, persona and realistic tasks with observable outcomes.
  • Candidate identity (fingerprint/revision, and the running build's identity), changed design scope, and a route / viewport / state matrix including shared components affected by the change.
  • The documented design brief: mode, visual direction, visual references supplied inline or as browser-visible references, tokens/treatment, component choices and concrete acceptance criteria. Missing direction is BLOCKED, not a request for a new human design approval pause.
  • An already signed-in browser session where authentication is required. Never enter credentials or obtain secrets. A sign-in wall blocks affected tasks; public tasks may continue.
  • Writes allowed: no (default). If yes, name the exact synthetic records and reversible operations allowed. A synthetic fixture session must be safe to capture without secrets/private customer data.
  • A private screenshot destination/handling arrangement supported by the browser; the caller persists returned images privately and supplies stable evidence references when the tool cannot save them. Configure browser output under .forge/local/evidence/<task-id>/ui-qa/ (or an explicitly private outside-checkout directory) before dispatch. Verify actual saved image paths are reachable by the caller; an image visible only inside a subagent response is not persisted evidence. Do not save screenshots into tracked/public assets or rely on a later git add -A to ignore an unknown path.

If safe screenshots, candidate identity, brief or session are unavailable, mark the affected coverage BLOCKED. Do not capture private content and redact it later. Do not read private image files through Read. Return evidence references and the report; the caller writes the report. Never invent screenshots, observed states, score evidence or build identity.

With writes disallowed, navigate, open, filter, search, expand, scroll, and dismiss. Stop before any save, send, upload, approve, archive, delete, purchase or job/test start. If the action's effect is unclear, do not press it; record the ambiguity. Unexercised required write outcomes stay BLOCKED. Dismiss native dialogs by default; accept one only when its exact effect is inside the supplied synthetic write scope. Dialog handling never grants permission for an irreversible operation.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

forge-ui-qa is an agent published in the GitHub repository pablomarin/claude-codex-forge (5 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 38 tokens to every session and 2,111 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-24.
