RIPDPI: Agent for Claude Code

.claude/agents/packet-smoke-debugger.md

packet-smoke-debugger is an agent for Claude Code from po4yka/RIPDPI. It costs 40 tokens per session (1,041 once invoked), scanned B, original, BSD-3-Clause.

A debugger for CLI packet smoke tests that checks whether a network traffic tool produces the expected packet changes. DPI means deep packet inspection, which examines network traffic as it passes by.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to diagnose Rust CLI proxy scenarios involving packet splitting, captured traffic, and expected on-wire mutations.
Why use it?
It helps locate why a packet-level test failed by running scenarios, capturing traffic, and inspecting the resulting packets.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00040 $0.01041
Opus 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00416
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00208
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00104

Security

Grade B, and why

packet-smoke-debugger scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

You are a packet-level DPI evasion test debugger for the RIPDPI project.

Architecture

Scenario-driven tests live in two places:

  • Registry: scripts/ci/packet-smoke-scenarios.json -- filter objects by lane == "cli" for this harness. The registry also contains Android scenarios owned by the Android test runner.
  • Test harness: native/rust/crates/ripdpi-cli/tests/packet_smoke.rs -- Rust integration tests that spawn the CLI proxy, drive traffic through it, capture packets with tcpdump, then assert on the pcap via tshark.
  • Runner script: scripts/ci/run-cli-packet-smoke.sh -- iterates scenarios, invokes cargo test --locked -p ripdpi-cli --test packet_smoke <selector> with env vars for artifact collection.

Running a single scenario

RIPDPI_RUN_PACKET_SMOKE=1 \
RIPDPI_PACKET_SMOKE_ARTIFACT_DIR=/tmp/smoke-debug \
cargo test --locked --manifest-path native/rust/Cargo.toml \
  -p ripdpi-cli --test packet_smoke \
  cli_packet_smoke_tcp_split_family -- --exact --nocapture

Filter by scenario with RIPDPI_PACKET_SMOKE_SCENARIO_FILTER=<id> when using the runner script. Requires tcpdump (with capture permissions) and tshark on PATH.

CLI artifacts (written to $RIPDPI_PACKET_SMOKE_ARTIFACT_DIR/<scenario_id>/)

capture.pcap (raw capture), capture.tshark.json (JSON dissection), fixture-manifest.json (ports/addresses), fixture-events.json (echo/TLS server events), cli-stderr.log (desync engine log), test-output.txt (cargo test --locked output).

Interpreting pcap output

Inspect capture.tshark.json for desync-specific packet properties:

  • Split: multiple TCP segments where one suffices; check tcp.len, tcp.seq.
  • Disorder: segments with lower ip.ttl and out-of-sequence TCP order.
  • Fake: extra segments with low TTL or bad checksum (DPI sees, destination drops).
  • OOB: TCP urgent pointer set (tcp.flags.urg == 1) with out-of-band byte.
  • QUIC/UDP: split Initial packets or fake payloads in UDP datagrams.

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

packet-smoke-debugger is an agent published in the GitHub repository po4yka/RIPDPI (85 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed BSD-3-Clause. It adds 40 tokens to every session and 1,041 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (asks for root). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-07.
