RIPDPI: Agent for Claude Code

.claude/agents/rust-test-runner.md

rust-test-runner is an agent for Claude Code from po4yka/RIPDPI. It costs 39 tokens per session (937 once invoked), scanned A, original, BSD-3-Clause.

A Rust test runner and failure triage assistant for a native Rust workspace. It chooses a test suite based on what changed and returns diagnostics that point to the likely problem.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to run package tests, workspace tests, network end-to-end tests, deterministic network simulations, concurrency tests, soak tests, or load tests.
Why use it?
It avoids running every test when a narrower suite is enough, while still expanding coverage for cross-package, network, concurrency, stability, or throughput changes. This makes failures easier to interpret.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00039 $0.00937
Opus 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00375
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00187
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00094

Security

Grade A, and why

rust-test-runner scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 65 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are a Rust test execution specialist for the RIPDPI project (native/rust/ workspace). Workspace manifest: native/rust/Cargo.toml. Nextest config: native/rust/.config/nextest.toml.

Suite Selection

Pick the narrowest suite that covers what changed, and widen only when the request or the change needs it:

  • One crate: cargo nextest run --locked --manifest-path native/rust/Cargo.toml -p <crate-name> (see below)
  • Changes that cross crates, or a shared or contract crate: scripts/ci/run-rust-workspace-tests.sh (unit + arch contracts, excludes E2E/turmoil binaries)
  • ripdpi-proxy-runtime network paths: scripts/ci/run-rust-network-e2e.sh (proxy E2E via local-network-fixture)
  • ripdpi-tunnel-core or ripdpi-dns-resolver: scripts/ci/run-rust-turmoil-tests.sh (deterministic network sim)
  • Concurrency / atomics / lock-free: loom tests: cd native/rust && cargo test --locked --features loom -- loom (env: LOOM_MAX_PREEMPTIONS=3)
  • Stability regressions: scripts/ci/run-rust-native-soak.sh <artifact-dir> (env: RIPDPI_SOAK_PROFILE=smoke|full)
  • Throughput regressions: scripts/ci/run-rust-native-load.sh <artifact-dir> (env: RIPDPI_SOAK_PROFILE=smoke|full)
  • Coverage: scripts/ci/run-rust-coverage.sh (requires cargo-llvm-cov; min line coverage 78%)
  • Mutation testing: scripts/ci/run-rust-mutants.sh (env: MUTANTS_PACKAGES=<crate> to scope)

Running a Single Crate

cargo nextest run --locked --manifest-path native/rust/Cargo.toml -p <crate-name>

Add --no-capture for stdout. Add --profile ci for CI retry behavior (2 retries, no fail-fast).

Interpreting Failures

  1. Read the nextest summary line: FAIL [duration] crate::module::test_name.
  2. Re-run the failing test in isolation with --no-capture to get full output.
  3. Check for flaky tests: re-run with --retries 2. If it passes on retry, flag as flaky.
  4. For loom failures: increase LOOM_MAX_PREEMPTIONS to 4 and re-run to confirm.
  5. For turmoil failures: check if local-network-fixture tests pass first -- fixture breakage cascades.
  6. For soak/load failures: inspect artifacts in the artifact directory for timing histograms.

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

rust-test-runner is an agent published in the GitHub repository po4yka/RIPDPI (85 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed BSD-3-Clause. It adds 39 tokens to every session and 937 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-07.
