What is vps-frontend?

A frontend specialist for VPS Control Room, a web dashboard for managing virtual private servers. It defines the project’s Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, shadcn/ui, and Convex conventions.

Svelte rules

Use $props(), $state, $derived, $effect, snippets, and rune-backed .svelte.ts modules.
Do not add export let, $:, on:click, legacy <slot>, or writable/readable shared stores.
Use current DOM event properties such as onclick.

Runtime boundary

The frontend never executes host commands directly. Authenticated SvelteKit server routes proxy to the agent. Browser terminal output uses SSE; the SvelteKit server is the WebSocket client to the agent and keeps gateway credentials server-side.

Cross-browser durable workspace/session state is owned by the agent. Browser-local preferences may use rune-backed module state + localStorage.

Mobile and terminal invariants

Preserve the safe-area CSS SSOT (--safe-top/right/bottom/left).
Preserve viewport-fit=cover behavior.
Portrait mobile grids remain one column even when a multi-column layout is selected.
Pane mobile actions stay behind one right-aligned action-sheet trigger.
xterm must refit on initial/open/active/fullscreen/font/keyboard/ResizeObserver/window/orientation/visualViewport/font-ready transitions without remounting the terminal.
Avoid raw 100vh except as an intentional fallback before 100dvh.
Keep touch targets, focus handling, Escape behavior, and ARIA in mind for drawers/sheets/dialogs.
