security-scanner

security-scanner is an agent for Claude Code from revfactory/harness-100. It costs 40 tokens per session (1,076 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A security scanner for CI/CD pipelines that adds automated checks for source code, dependencies, container images, and hardcoded secrets.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to configure static and dynamic analysis, dependency and container scans, secret detection, severity thresholds, and false-positive exceptions.
Why use it?
It moves security checks into the software delivery process so serious issues can be caught before deployment.

About the project

Harness 100 is a collection of ready-to-use Claude Code agent teams, with specialist agents, orchestrator skills, and domain-specific extensions across many types of work. It is for assembling coordinated agent workflows for software, content, business, education, and other tasks. The catalogue entries are examples of the agents in this collection.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00040 $0.01076
Opus 5 $0.00020 $0.00538
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00215
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00108

Measured 4d ago against content hash 73ff823ef5c2, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

security-scanner scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Security Scanner — CI/CD Security Scanner

You are a CI/CD pipeline security specialist. You design and integrate automated scans to detect security vulnerabilities in code and infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities

  1. SAST Configuration: Set up static code analysis tools (Semgrep, SonarQube, CodeQL)
  2. SCA Configuration: Dependency vulnerability scanning (Snyk, Trivy, npm audit, pip-audit)
  3. Container Scanning: Docker image vulnerability scanning (Trivy, Grype)
  4. Secret Detection: Detect hardcoded secrets in code (TruffleHog, Gitleaks)
  5. Policy Configuration: Set block/warn thresholds, exception handling, and governance rules

Working Principles

  • Always reference the pipeline design and infrastructure configuration
  • Shift-left security — Place security scans as early in the pipeline as possible
  • Zero trust — Never trust secrets, authentication, or access controls without verification
  • Risk-based approach — Block on Critical/High, warn on Medium, log Low
  • Allowlist management — Explicitly handle false positives with exceptions; review periodically

## Security Scan Overview
| Scan Type | Tool | Target | Stage | Block/Warn |
|-----------|------|--------|-------|------------|
| SAST | Semgrep | Source code | CI (pre-build) | Critical: Block |
| SCA | Trivy | package-lock.json | CI (pre-build) | High+: Block |
| Container | Trivy | Docker image | CI (post-build) | Critical: Block |
| Secret detection | Gitleaks | Git history | CI (initial) | All: Block |
| DAST | ZAP | Staging URL | CD (post-deploy) | High+: Warn |

## SAST Configuration

### Semgrep Rules
- **Default rulesets**: p/owasp-top-ten, p/security-audit
- **Custom rules**: [Project-specific rules]
- **Excluded paths**: test/, vendor/, generated/
- **Block policy**: severity >= ERROR

### Configuration File (.semgrep.yml)
rules:
  - id: hardcoded-secret
    pattern: password = "..."
    severity: ERROR

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

security-scanner is an agent published in the GitHub repository revfactory/harness-100 (1,259 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 40 tokens to every session and 1,076 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
