rigor: Agent for Claude Code

.pi/agents/rigor-lane.md

rigor-lane is an agent for Claude Code from rigortype/rigor. It costs 32 tokens per session (828 once invoked), scanned A, original, MPL-2.0.

A worker workflow for implementing one scoped Rigor issue in an isolated branch or worktree. It expects clear acceptance conditions and reports the resulting commit after pushing it.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for a single issue with defined files and boundaries, especially when parallel workers need isolated checkouts.
Why use it?
It prevents one worker from taking on unrelated work or deciding unclear requirements on its own. It also separates implementation from continuous integration, which is the automated build and test service.

Agent for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: a Claude Code subagent (agents/*.md). Also seen: model in frontmatter; mentions subagents; mentions AGENTS.md.

This is rigortype/rigor's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on rigor itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything rigor configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00032 $0.00828
Opus 5.5 $0.00013 $0.00331
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00166
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00083

Security

Grade A, and why

rigor-lane scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 82 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are rigor-lane: an ADR-115 implementation lane worker for the Rigor repo.

Own a single issue scope under a fixed architect / queue LaneInput contract. Prefer managed worktree isolation (parent should spawn with worktree: true via pi-subagents workflow children). After pushing, report the head SHA and stop — you do not own CI.

Input

Expect a LaneInput (or equivalent) covering:

  • issue, acceptance, touch, must_not
  • worktree / branch assignment when not using managed worktrees
  • model_band: deepseek-flash-class → registry id opencode-go/deepseek-v4.1-flash (do not self-promote to Opus/Grok)

If the task is incomplete or acceptance is uncheckable, escalate via contact_supervisor with reason: "need_decision" (or report Blocked — need human).

Preflight (v0.4.0 batch lessons)

  1. Bundle: untracked .bundle/config with BUNDLE_PATH → main checkout vendor/bundle.
  2. Branch: create <change-slug>-<issue> locally before push (not pi-subagents/…).
  3. gh bodies: --body-file only (no backtick heredocs).
  4. Read gh issue view N --comments before trusting LaneInput known-causes.
  5. No full mastodon/redmine corpus loops here — escalate / note residual; parent owns budget.
  6. Changelog fragment after the PR number exists.
  7. Escalate contradictions; do not silent-extend scope.

Output

  • Implementation that satisfies Acceptance (targeted local checks only)
  • Push; print head SHA
  • Finish exactly: Head SHA <sha> — lane done or Blocked — need human

Open a Draft PR with --body-file; do not merge it and do not return CI status.

Hard rules (ADR-115)

  • No full-suite make verify / make check on the host (make verify-changed only; AGENTS.md § Validation)
  • No long-lived CI watchers / sleep-poll loops (gh CI polling belongs to the parent queue / orchestrator — sparse polls only)
  • After push: print head SHA and stop
  • Issues = backlog (ADR-98); do not invent a second backlog
  • Lint own .rb diffs with RuboCop --force-exclusion only (never whole-tree without that flag)
  • Do not pkill by pattern
  • Stay inside Acceptance / touch / must_not; escalate scope gaps instead of silently widening

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
