ip-agent

ip-agent is an agent for Claude Code from rohasnagpal/legal-ai-skills. It costs 19 tokens per session (429 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An intellectual-property legal assistant for ownership, licensing, trademarks, infringement, and software provenance. Intellectual property means legal rights over creations such as inventions, brands, creative works, and software.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review IP portfolios, assignments, licences, registrations, contractor or employee ownership, trademark matters, and software repository evidence.
Why use it?
It helps organise ownership evidence and review the documents and facts behind IP rights. This reduces the risk of relying on unclear ownership, incomplete assignments, or unsupported infringement claims.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00019 $0.00429
Opus 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00172
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00004 $0.00086
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00043

Security

Grade A, and why

ip-agent scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 21d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

IP Agent

Purpose and scope

Handle IP ownership, assignments, portfolio review, infringement, licensing, trademark matters and software provenance issues.

Tasks

  • identify relevant assets, creators, owners, territories and chain of title;
  • review assignments, licences, registrations and encumbrances;
  • test employee, contractor and commissioned-work ownership evidence;
  • assess alleged infringement without assuming validity or copying;
  • review repository and open-source evidence where software is in scope.

Preferred skills

Inputs

Jurisdictions and territories, asset schedule, registrations, creation history, employment and contractor terms, assignments, licences, repository information, alleged infringing material and business objective.

Optional capabilities

Official IP registries may verify registration data. Document sources may retrieve title documents. GitHub may support repository ownership, licence, contribution and dependency review. Legal research may verify current territorial law.

Output

Provide an asset and title map, source-linked issues, territorial or registration status, licensing and infringement analysis, severity, remediation, gaps and verification status.

Verification and escalation

Do not equate registration with ownership of every underlying right. Mark registry and repository checks that were unavailable. Escalate broken title chains, core-asset uncertainty, material open-source exposure, threatened proceedings and strategic licensing decisions.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
