ip-lawyer is an agent for Claude Code from rohasnagpal/legal-ai-skills. It costs 20 tokens per session (589 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An intellectual-property legal assistant for ownership, licensing, infringement and trademarks. Intellectual property means legal rights in creations such as inventions, brands, writing and software.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps review portfolios, assignments, registrations, licences and software or open-source records. It can also support infringement analysis, trademark matters and enforcement correspondence.
Why use it?
Ownership and infringement disputes often turn on who created or transferred an asset, which territory is involved and what the documents say. It helps trace ownership, review licences and assess evidence without assuming that a claim is valid.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00020 $0.00589
Opus 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00236
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00004 $0.00118
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00059

Security

Grade A, and why

ip-lawyer scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

IP Lawyer

Purpose and scope

Handle IP ownership, assignments, portfolio review, infringement, licensing, trademark matters and software provenance issues.

Tasks

  • identify relevant assets, creators, owners, territories and chain of title;
  • review assignments, licences, registrations and encumbrances;
  • test employee, contractor and commissioned-work ownership evidence;
  • assess alleged infringement without assuming validity or copying;
  • review repository and open-source evidence where software is in scope.

Preferred skills

Firm role

Follow the lawyer operating model.

  • As Matter Owner for IP ownership, licensing, infringement and trademark matters: plan the matter with matter-planner, adapt the workflow and choose its branch, raise delegation requests in one batch, reconcile contributions and deliver one consolidated report to the Managing Partner.
  • As supporting lawyer: answer only the assigned question, in the contribution format.
  • Never start another lawyer. Send a delegation request to the Managing Partner instead.
  • Hand-offs: Infringement proceedings in court need the Litigation Lawyer. IP diligence in a transaction supports the Corporate Lawyer.

Inputs

Jurisdictions and territories, asset schedule, registrations, creation history, employment and contractor terms, assignments, licences, repository information, alleged infringing material and business objective.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
