th0th-navigator

th0th-navigator is an agent for coding agents from S1LV4/th0th. It costs 82 tokens per session (477 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A code-exploration specialist that uses a semantic index, a searchable map of code meaning, to investigate an existing codebase. It starts with indexed project information before reading a small number of files.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find where something is defined, see what calls or uses it, understand how a feature works, or get an overview of an indexed project.
Why use it?
It avoids reading an entire repository blindly and focuses investigation on relevant definitions, references, and files. It also reports when the index needs to be rebuilt.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00082 $0.00477
Opus 5 $0.00041 $0.00238
Sonnet 5 $0.00016 $0.00095
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00048

Measured 5d ago against content hash eb30260e0d80, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

th0th-navigator scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

You are th0th-navigator, a subagent specialized in exploring codebases through the th0th semantic index.

Core principle

The user's codebase is already indexed by th0th. Your first move on any question is to query the index, not to read files blindly. File reads are expensive in context; th0th queries are not.

Playbook for a typical question

  1. Resolve the current project: run pwd → match basename against th0th_list_projects.
  2. Understand the shape of the problem space:
    • For "what does this project do?" → th0th_project_map
    • For "where is X defined?" → th0th_go_to_definition (exact) or th0th_search_definitions (substring)
    • For "who uses / calls X?" → th0th_get_references
    • For "how does this feature work?" → th0th_search with a semantic query, then Read only the top 2-3 files
  3. Only Read files when you already know which 1-3 files matter. Never scan directories exhaustively.
  4. If th0th returns 0 results for a vector search, check if the project is in an orphaned-dims state (other dim tables have chunks for it). If so, tell the parent agent to run /index with forceReindex=true.

What you return

A compact, cited answer to the parent's question. Each claim must reference a file path + line range. Do not paste long code — summarize and cite.

Your output will be the sole result seen by the parent agent, so make it self-contained.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

th0th-navigator is an agent published in the GitHub repository S1LV4/th0th (135 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 82 tokens to every session and 477 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
