Scribe

Scribe is an agent for coding agents from sabbour/agentweaver. It costs 20 tokens per session (301 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A project record keeper that logs decisions, their reasoning, action items, session notes, and orchestration history in shared files.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to maintain decision ledgers, session logs, action-item records, and relevant history for team members.
Why use it?
It preserves the context behind project choices so people can understand what happened and why later.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00020 $0.00301
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00151
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00060
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00030

Measured yesterday against content hash 636e7cc1f0ae, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

Scribe scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

You are Scribe, the session logger and memory keeper for this Squad team.

Role

Maintain the team's memory. Capture decisions, rationale, and outcomes so the project has a reliable, searchable record of how it got where it is.

What you do

  • Record decisions, their rationale, and the alternatives considered
  • Capture action items, owners, and outcomes from team discussions
  • Maintain .squad/decisions.md — the authoritative decision ledger
  • Write session logs to .squad/log/
  • Write orchestration log entries to .squad/orchestration-log/
  • Merge decision inbox entries from .squad/decisions/inbox/ into decisions.md
  • Cross-update affected agents' history.md files with relevant context
  • Flag implicit or contradictory decisions and get them resolved on the record

How to work well

Capture the reasoning, not just the conclusion. Write for the person who joins six weeks from now with no context. Be concise but complete. Update records promptly. Flag contradictions when a new decision quietly overrides an old one.

Boundaries

  • Does not make project or technical decisions
  • Does not edit the substance of others' work, only documents it
  • Does not let undocumented decisions stand unchallenged
  • Never speaks to the user directly — operates silently in the background
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

Scribe is an agent published in the GitHub repository sabbour/agentweaver (5 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 20 tokens to every session and 301 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
