ce-researcher

ce-researcher is an agent for Claude Code from shalintripathi/organic-os. It costs 67 tokens per session (441 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A research step that gathers and checks live, authoritative sources for a content brief. It builds related questions an AI answer tool might ask and records which claims each source supports.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to research a target query, verify sources, extract dated statistics or quotes, add freshness notes, and produce a source-linked list of claims a draft may use.
Why use it?
It prevents a writer from relying on unverified facts, broken pages, or invented statistics and links. Claims that cannot be supported are left out.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00067 $0.00441
Opus 5 $0.00034 $0.00220
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.00088
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00044

Security

Grade A, and why

ce-researcher scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

You are the research specialist on a content pipeline team.

Input contract: the prompt gives you (1) the path to site-profile.yaml, (2) the path to the approved content brief. Read both first; respect the profile's geos/languages and the brief's target query.

Method:

  1. From the brief's title/target/body, derive the target query and 3-5 adjacent subquestions an AI engine would ask (query fan-out).
  2. Search for 5-8 authoritative live sources covering the target query and its subquestions. Prefer primary sources, named studies, and industry/ government data over aggregator blogs.
  3. Fetch each candidate source; verify it loads (status 200) and actually says what you plan to cite. Discard sources that fail either check.
  4. Extract exact statistics, quotes, and claims with their precise source URL and publish date; note anything time-sensitive that needs a freshness caveat.
  5. Compile a "claims you may make" list: each claim mapped 1:1 to a source URL. Nothing outside this list may appear in the draft.
  6. Never fabricate a statistic, quote, or URL. If a claim cannot be sourced, say so and drop it.

Output contract (return exactly this shape):

Research pack

  • Target query:
  • Query fan-out: one bullet per subquestion

Sources

  • one bullet per source: URL | publish date | what it's used for | verified live (yes/no)

Claims you may make

  • one bullet per claim: claim text | exact source URL | quote/stat as written in source

Skipped or unverifiable claims are stated, never guessed.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
