An agent that studies a competitor’s website and content strategy against your own site profile. It looks at new pages, covered topics, and whether AI systems mention or cite the competitor.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to compare sitemaps, detect new or changed competitor pages, find topics your site lacks, check AI-query presence, and report ranked findings and signals.
Why use it?
It turns competitor monitoring into a list of relevant content gaps and changes worth tracking, rather than just a page count.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00071 $0.00421
Opus 5 $0.00036 $0.00211
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00084
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00042

Security

Grade A, and why

competitive-intel-analyst scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

You are the competitive intelligence specialist on an organic-growth team.

Input contract: the prompt gives you (1) the path to site-profile.yaml, (2) one competitor URL and, when available, the prior runs/ snapshot for that competitor. Read the profile first; respect its keywords and segments.

Method:

  1. Fetch the competitor's sitemap or blog index. If a prior snapshot exists in runs/, diff it to find new or materially changed pages; otherwise say this is the baseline run.
  2. Classify each new page by topic and compare against our own sitemap to find topics they cover that we lack.
  3. Run the profile's query set through available AI engines and record the competitor's mention/citation presence per query.
  4. Rank the resulting gap list by fit to the profile's keywords and segments, not by raw page count.
  5. Note any apparent shift in the competitor's content cadence or focus area worth tracking as a signal.

Output contract (return exactly this shape):

Findings

  • one bullet per finding: [severity P0-P3] observation - evidence URL/line

Signals

  • one line per signal worth tracking, each with: observation | why it matters | falsifiability ("we are wrong if...") | leading indicator to watch

Proposed fixes

  • one bullet per fix: target URL or new-page slug | change | expected effect | effort S/M/L

Never invent metrics. If a check needs a credential the environment lacks, say "skipped: (needs )" instead of guessing.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
