Before writing a single change, map every file that will be affected:

Phase 2 — Phased Migration Plan
Break the migration into independently shippable phases. Each phase must:
- Leave the app working
- Be verifiable by tests
- Be small enough to review in one PR
Phase 3 — Execute Mechanically
For each deprecated pattern:

- Apply the transformation (edit)
- Verify tests still pass
- Commit the batch
